As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. John 15:9
There are approximately 33 scriptures in the bible referencing sand.
A loose granular substance, typically pale yellowish brown, resulting from the erosion of siliceous and other rocks and forming a major constituent of beaches, riverbeds, the seabed, and deserts.
You the reader must be thinking Sand? Sand? Really? Such a peculiar word to study when we study the Bible? And I would have to agree! So why did this word show up? How did it arrive in my thoughts? I asked a simple question?
A few weeks ago, I had a discussion with a friend about the time Jesus showed us how not to judge but to have great compassion. Even with great peer pressure He stood firm and did what was right in his heart… I will take to the scripture John 8:6 where it is documented that Jesus was tested. And he bent down and with his finger wrote something in the sand. There are several ideas what was written but there really is no proof. This puzzled me and must have stayed in my mind…. Because curious minds want to know.. Hmm
And now there is one more idea… and I take no credit for it. It came to me in a meditation. I did not even have this in my mind at the time. It just happened so I thought I would share.
My meditation moment:
The room was dark and cool. With Lights softly burning. I lit the incense. I laid the chair all the way back. Put my headphones on. And listened to a song called Yeshua, and soon I drifted here...
I was on a beach the water was a beautiful aqua color it had large black smooth bolder size rocks outlining the shoreline. The waves were crashing and rolling in as to kiss the shore. You could hear the roar of the ocean. I could see the sun’s rays as they danced across the surface of the water. I could smell the salt in the air.. and feel the warmth upon my skin.
I soon saw a white horse being ridden fast I could see the sand fly almost in a slow-motion action as the horse’s hoofs hit the smooth wet sand. At first, I was just standing off to one side. But when I looked again, I was on the back holding on to Jesus tightly. But quickly the scene changed and we were sitting on the shore in the soft beach sand ... He seemed to be writing something in the sand ...And I asked Him. What did you write in the sand so many years ago ... He looked up and smiled and looked down to continue to write.
So I got up and walked behind Him... and to my surprise. He had written I LOVE YOU. And then I began to cry ... in the physical.. the music faded and the meditation ended.
So when I read, the scripture from a time gone by, I know in my heart It was I LOVE YOU that was written in the sand that day… and yes He did it twice.. because some of us are harder to convince than others… How could that not be the answer?
He was not sent to us to judge us. He was sent here to teach us how to LOVE. He was sent to teach us how to treat others. He was sent to teach us how to stand up for what is right. Even if it goes against what others think or do. I do think it is in our Human nature to judge. But we must look at our own hearts. Before we throw that stone… Show compassion, show LOVE, be the change. Let's learn how to love from the Master.
Its Him, It's always Him.
There are no reasons on earth that can change His LOVE for us.
He WOWs me.
This they said to test him, that they might have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground. John 8:6
“For God did not send the Son into the world in order to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him.”
John 3:17 AMPC
How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with You. Psalm 139:17-18
Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him. Jesus stood up and said to her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you; go and from now on sin no more."Jn 8:9-11
