Dedicated

can't make people fall in love withJesus, but I can arrange dates…Andy Stanley....

Meaning of dedicated (of a person) devoted to a task or purpose; having single-minded loyalty or integrity.

The word dedicated can be found 25 times in the Bible.

How does He orchestrate happenings in our lives that draw us to clues of discovering more?

This week I stumbled across a movie called Mary Magdalene. I watched the movie and the next day I discovered that March is woman’s month … hmm

Many would say that it is just a coincidence. But I have discovered that I love how He works.

Women have played such a significant role in the Bible. But when looking back with the exception of Mary the Mother of Jesus they seem to be overshadowed by the men…

Do we try to understand the roles and the significance they played in such a male-dominated world??

When I began my discovery of Mary Magdalene I knew very little about her. But I soon discovered these facts.

1. Jesus cast out 7 demons from her. Is it a coincidence that there are 7 deadly sins? (pride, envy, wrath, gluttony, lust, sloth, and greed) hmm

2.She boldly left her family to follow Jesus

3. She was a witness of the crucifixion
4. She was the first witness of the empty tomb

5. She was mentioned in all four of the Gospels

6. Her amazing story was one of darkness and torment until Jesus freed her from the bondage that raged within her soul…

I do not want to take away from the important facts, but what impressed me the most, was not only her loyalty to her Savior … But beyond that was her deep love for Him…

I believe she felt she owed Him her renewed life…

She must have felt spiritual, emotional, and physical death when He was taken from our world.… Losing the one who freed her.. the one who brought light into her dark world… It must have crushed her heart and made her soul bleed…

But the “good news” was she was the first one to lay eyes on Him at His resurrection. She was the first witness… She was set apart. She was chosen.

It was a woman that He appeared to first. It was a woman that He trusted with such monumental news. It was a woman that He trusted to share His amazing legacy of love and life beyond death to the world.

She had such an unwavering trust, deep love, and gratitude for Him. She did not just love Him. But I believe she indeed fell in love with Him… It has been written that there may have been a physical attraction to Jesus.

But a physical attraction is not necessary to fall in love with our Creator…It’s a much deeper love, it comes from a deep place within our soul...

As I traveled on this journey I have been blessed to discover a few souls that carry this type of love for Him.  It transcends time, space, and human understanding … It’s a spiritual gift from Him… and Him alone.

I believe we get confused when we try to dissect this love… The hows and whys, the “scientific” result from testing.

When speaking of the possibilities of Heaven, eternity, and the spiritual realms we will never fully understand. It contains such vastness and depth, just how do we wrap our human mind around it?

That is why we must open our hearts and trust Him and love Him with the innocence of a child….

It’s Him… He WOWs me.

I urge you…

Love Him like Mary… love Him with that type of dedication… with that type of depth… fall in love with His soul… take your love to the next level… Don’t keep your love for Him restrained to what our world has deemed as acceptable…  Set your love free… Just as He freed Mary…

I have discovered when dealing with Him there is always MORE!!!

Jesus replied: “ Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ Matthew 22:37

“Learn this well: Unless you dramatically change your way of thinking and become teachable like a little child, you will never be able to enter in Matthew 18:3 TPT

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy, he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead 1Peter 1:3

Christmas

“Christmas should be a day when our minds go back to Bethlehem, beyond the noise of our materialistic world, to hear the soft flutter of angels’ wings.” Billy Graham

Christmas is one of the most celebrated  Christian holidays of the year, but what is the true meaning of Christmas? It is the celebration of the beautiful birth of Jesus Christ our Savior .. but is there more?

Christmas appears zero times in the Bible. But in the New International Version of the Bible, “Christ” appears 453 times!

In order to understand the word CHRISTmas I decided to look at the two syllables that make up this word we have grown to celebrate annually...

The word is a shortened form of "Christ's mass", or "Cristes Maesse" as it was first recorded in 1038.

Christ was the title given to Jesus. It was not His given name. It actually comes from the Greek word Christos which means "anointed one" or "chosen one.".

The second syllable “mass”  comes from The English word “Mass” which comes from the Latin word missa, which means to be “sent.” This Latin word has been used since the 6th or 7th century. The mass is the gathering of people to celebrate the life of Jesus. This practice is the ritual we know as Holy Communion and the Lord's Supper.

So to summarize the word CHRISTmas: it is a word that was given to a Christian event that has celebrated the birth of Jesus since  Dec. 25, 336 AD.

It is the annual celebration of “anointed” one. The style of this celebration is the drinking of wine and eating of bread to remember our beautiful Savoir.

So how and when did this monumental day become so commercialized? When did we decide to give this “gift“ an annual birthday celebration? Do we even celebrate its true significance?  Or do we get caught up in all the materialistic trappings?

This tiny newborn life that we celebrate on Christmas, comes from the very essence of God our Creator. We know Him as the son of God.  This beautiful soul came to earth to live and taste life. He wanted to understand first-hand man's journey and how to live life as a human. He wanted to teach us a value system that would bless our lives... He is our living example of how to conduct ourselves with others... He allowed men to take His life in order to offer us a way home and to clean our transgressions before our Heavenly Father... He came to us as a gift with a mission...

So as we break bread, and pour the wine in celebration ... Take a few moments.. and put those shiny new gifts aside.. and let’s bow our heads ... and truly thank Him for being the reason we are blessed to gather today... He is the reason we celebrate life... It’s because of Him that we have been able to share in God's human anointing...  We can further discover in 1 Samuel 16:13; Matthew 25:1-13 that the act of anointing symbolizes the Holy Spirit.

So are we to understand CHRISTmas... Is Jesus Christ the anointed one.. He is God, the man, that has been sent to us as the deliverer and He reigns as promised under the title of Messiah.. the expected king.

Mass is the gathering of the masses.. To share in the beautiful gift of life. I can only bow my head and thank Him ... The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit for His abundant love. His abundant grace and His patience as I unravel the many clues He has given us.

It makes me smile when I see how He has woven every celebration, every word, every gift... to Him... Because He knows that our lives are much like a butterfly ... We come to earth and stay in the dormant state of our cocoon... Until the day, His love breaks our spirit free and we become alive... This transformation begins our migration home to Our Creator.

Today I celebrate His life, His Love. His gift of the anointed one Jesus Christ...  He is my masterpiece of splendid wonder... I appreciate Him beyond this life... He WOWs me...

It’s Him, It’s always Him

Merry CHRISTmas

Hmm, 🤔 More clues to this amazing heavenly puzzle?  ...are we ready??

Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; Revelations 19:7 ESV

“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us). Matthew 1:23

“Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne. “Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.” Revelation 3:21-22 NLT

Wise

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” Amen!! Matthew 28:20

Meaning of wise: having or showing experience, knowledge, and good judgment. "she seems kind and wise"

The word wise appears 344 times. The words wiser and wisest appear 9 and 2 times, respectively. The word wisdom appears 367 times.
The word wise made me think of this question, what is the difference between wise and smart?

So, we need to do a little digging.

Solomon in the book of Kings asked God for wisdom to be a good king. I am curious why didn’t he ask God to make him smarter?

Being wise is making the best choice inherently. Based on experience, background, and knowledge. Being smart is applying general intellectual resources to “think through” a problem and based on findings arrive at the correct answer. They seem to be similar but yet carry inherent differences. I do believe you can be both simultaneously. But you can also be them singularly.

So, now let’s travel back in time and peek into the pages of the Bible.   We all have heard the story about three wise men. They traveled from afar because they heard a story and witnessed a beautiful star.

'After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. 10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.

Matthew 2:9-10

How many of us would have trusted this story? How many of us would have packed up and made such an amazing trip… Would we have said, we are too busy? Would we have been prepared? Would we have the tools to navigate to our destination? Would we have put it off until we felt if we could travel at a more convenient time? We can see this beautiful soul anytime? Maybe tomorrow?

Why do we let opportunities slip through our fingers? Are we smart or wise? Are we both? or are we neither?

Many wise men before us have traveled this road of life before us. They have left us many clues… Why do many of us think we are so smart and we can do life on our own? It may be a lack of experience? Maybe it's a lack of knowledge? Where are we in our walk? Are we seeking a better way of life? Are we searching for our King? Are we allowing God to guide us home? Are we looking for eternal hope? And for a love that we have difficultly understanding?

Have we ever asked ourselves why only three wise men, why not more? Well, we did I find that there is some controversy about when and how many Shepard boys and how many wise men were involved in this magical moment? There are some that claim, that there are also some inconsistencies in when the wise men actually arrived at their destination.

I will not try to prove or disprove either story. I can only say that I consider whoever showed up to be wise enough to be blessed to share what they witnessed and who this tiny miracle truly is.

The wise are few. They inherently are set apart. It is based on their experience, background, and knowledge make the best choice. Even if it is inconvenient. They are humble and secure in their decisions.

So, the question becomes how do we become wiser?

We prepare ourselves, we study and invest the time. So, when the opportunity arrives to travel home to witness this amazing soul... We will be excited to see His face with our own spiritual eyes… We will be ready…We will have the tools.  Have we gathered our spiritual gifts to give Him..??

I can not speak for others, I can only chase Him each day in hopes that I can grow in knowledge. I need to continue to work on listening to God's whispers. I can pray that as I learn, that I “think through” life on earth and what our Savoir offers. And that I can be wise enough to seek Him, Love Him, and be ready for the journey no matter far and how long it might take.

It truly is Him… It’s always Him

Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. Matthew 7:14

“A wise man will hear, and will increase learning, and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:” Proverbs 1:5 KJV

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” Matthew 2:1

Overshadow

But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy.

Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. Psalm 5:11

Meaning of overshadow: 1. To throw a shadow over; to overshade. 2. To shelter; to protect; to cover with protecting influence.

We located forty verses that speak about the word “overshadow”…

As I sat in my cold dark room, I became mesmerized by the soft glow of the golden light that spilled so softly on the table by my side… There

I began to think about this word that my friend placed gently in my lap. “Overshadow” is such an ambiguous word.

With those thoughts rumbling in my head,   I was drawn to the shadows that danced on the walls of my room my mind drifted to a time so long ago…

It’s that pivotal day when a tiny life was conceived, a life that would change the world…

“The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So, the Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God.” Luke 1:35 NIV

And as I my heart opened to the scripture before me the words [ the power of the "Most High” ] resonated with my soul…

What causes God to speak to us in such a powerful and profound way? Why are only a few chosen to feel Him in an overshadowing experience?  Is there significance?

I like you have so many unanswered questions? As many of you already know I had a Holy Spirit Encounter that changed many things in my life…

When I read the scripture in Luke  1:35.

I began to question could my experience be called “overshadowed by God..?

Now don’t miss understand I am not in any way comparing myself to such an amazing soul we know as Mary the Mother of our beloved Christ…

I can only try to understand what must have gone through her mind? What and how did she feel? Was the change she felt immediate? Or did it grow along with her unborn child?

I do not have the intimate details about Mary's amazing moment in time…

But I can share my thoughts about mine… I was driving on a dark lonely road … I was not looking for God I thought my life was on track… When suddenly I felt a love like I have never known. I felt a warm feeling in my soul and a warm light filled my car… The moment was surreal ... my heart began to race and I became bewildered and confused because I was not sure what had just happened. I pulled my car over and sat there for a while….

I was not like Mary chosen to save humanity nor was I asked to carry such a beautiful precious soul we know as Emmanuel.

But I can say my soul's rebirth happened that day…

Did He overshadow me? or did He love me beyond my understanding?  I will let you decide… As I stand in awe and only whisper...

It’s Him! It has always been Him.

He is such a lover of souls. His presence is what we crave… it’s a yearning of the heart that will never be satisfied until our eyes can gaze upon His beautiful face!!

Life as I know it will never be the same.

The "GIFT"

True love is about what happens beyond this Life. It's about a loving relationship with our Creator and cherishing the greatest gift you will ever be blessed to discover... It's Him!!!

The meaning of gift: a thing given willingly to someone without payment; a present:

The word "gift" is in the King James Version of the Bible 59 times. It is in 52 verses.

If today you were given the news that you had only a few days to live ... In a matter of moments, many thoughts would flood your mind. Your heart would ache and your soul would grieve and possibly begin to weep...

Do we cherish this gift of life or do we squander the moments??  Do we only place value on this gift when we are faced with that pivotal moment leading to our last breath?

When we open the clues that are locked within the words of the Bible we can find The greatest Gift of life...

It’s a gift that speaks life. It's a gift that speaks love. It looks at death as not the end but as a new exciting beginning. It crosses time. It crosses all boundaries. Its purity, and holds such wondrous beauty. It can not be contained and breathes the sweetness of life to our weary souls ...

Most of us have felt the joy and excitement of receiving “a” gift... But what do we feel when we receive “The Gift”... There are NO earthy words to even begin to describe it!!  It leaves us speechless.

Has the question crossed our minds? What sacrifice did God make to give us “The Gift”!

Did He expect too much from mankind? Did He hope that maybe He miss read our hearts? He gave us “The Greatest Gift” He gave us the most beautiful part of Himself... We opened this gift and found such beauty, such grace, and such an amazing heart... It’s Him... Many call Him Jesus...

But did we squander the moments? Did we value His life? Did we listen to His voice calling to our hearts?

History has proven we let Him down... We allowed greed, hate, and fear, to rip this amazing earthly gift from our unworthy hands...

Some hearts were wounded... Some turned their backs... Some washed their hands... Some grieved deeply but were powerless to stop this horrific moment in time...

This story has been passed down through generations. It speaks of a man with a heavenly connection... It speaks of His purity and His great love..and the horrific suffering He endured, to give His children the monumental gift of eternal life. He gave Himself to all of mankind...

Reflecting on this moment wounds my heart.. grieves my soul and brings tears of pain.

And then my mind raced to God the Father...Do we ask ourselves, what did He feel?  His heart must have shattered, His soul must have grieved the deepest grief... Tears must have flowed. Many say He turn away?

He had the power to stop this act of torture, against His beautiful Son. Why, did He allow this ?? How did He allow this ??? It truly boggles our minds.

I can only relate on a very very tiny scale... As a parent, we love our children and many would give their own life for their child...

So, why did God let this happen?

Jesus is God in the flesh... He did not turn away. He sees the big picture... He knows our future. He knows every hair on every head. He held us close to His heart even before we were born.

He gave His own human life for His child “You and me".... He sacrificed His human body to give us “The Gift” the gift of life and love for eternity.

The question becomes, Will we remember and honor this gift? Will we embrace it? Will we be grateful? Or will we squander the moments?

Will we love Him with all of mind, body, and soul for even making this gift a possible option!

It truly is a choice to accept this gift.

I can only share with you that I have felt this gift stirring deep within my soul... And without any doubt, it is The greatest Gift” we can ever be blessed to know...

It’s Him, It’s always Him

He is the "Gift of a lifetime" Don't squander even one moment.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Matthew 6:1-4
