Perception - can set your mood for the entire day.

What do you see in this photo ??? Perception can be tricky (answer at the bottom of this page)

The word perception can be found 8 times in the Bible.

Meaning of perception: The ability to see beneath the outward form to the underlying, often hidden, reality. It is a necessary gift in dealing with people, understanding spiritual teaching, and interpreting events. Perception is important for effective service, though it is often lacking, even among God’s people.

Perception is such a personal word. It’s our view of people, places, and things. Based on our ability to see, hear, smell, taste, feel, and witness.

“Perception” does it define who we are? Or are we just a perception of how people see us? Or does it go deeper?

Our persona holds many facets of who we are. Do we hide behind a mask? Are we seeing the best in others.? Or do we see a perception that they have built to hold life’s scars and victories?

Is our perception of others true to their core? Does it shine from their soul? I say we will never truly know if our perceptions are on target. Our perceptions can sometimes be so misguided!

There are times when we let our guard down and let someone in because of our perception. We learn to trust we learn to love.. and suddenly their true colors bleed through and our perception is changed and our heart carries the scar.

And then on the flip side, there are the times we do not see the treasure in the one that may be standing right beside you due to our own misguided thoughts and perceptions.

But in life, we must take the risk to love and be loved. It truly is the essence of life. Without love life would be void. The beauty of this amazing gift would be stripped clean.. and sadness would fill the air.

I have found unless we study, spend time, and learn everything about the person... We will never truly know if our perception is indeed on target.

The mystery becomes how people’s perception of one person or group of people can be so diverse?  When in fact the person or people are always the same... I found it’s due to each individual view based on their own personal life’s journey. I feel perceptions are emotional in nature and can set the tone for your entire day.

During this word study, I found myself asking what is my perception of God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  Such a vast subject 😀. But I am studying, learning, and spending the time to build a relationship that shines from His soul to my heart.  My perception lies in the three as one ... and the LOVE I have felt in my heart and the peace they have placed in my soul...

The one common thread I have discovered is that all things always points to Jesus and His amazing unconditional LOVE

I seem to always walk away just saying WOW!

I pray and challenge you to dig deep and ask yourself if your perceptions are on target 🎯? Hmm?

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2

Act 17:11 “These were nobler than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”

Luke 5:22 Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked, "Why are you thinking these things in your hearts?

Drought

"Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, “Return to Me,” declares the Lord of hosts, “that I may return to you,” says the Lord of hosts.  Zechariah 1:3

Meaning of drought, a prolonged period of abnormally low rainfall, leading to a shortage of water.

We located approximately 41 verses the refers to the word drought…

Have you ever been so thirsty that nothing seems to satisfy your thirst?? I cannot fathom the thought of how some countries suffer for lack of water...  We are a spoiled lot... Many take this gift of water for granted...

When we examine a drought, we can see the life being drained. Our earth will become so dry it will literally crack open... and life will wither away... Layers of dirt can be carried away with the wind...

There are many droughts we could study in the Bible. But my heart landed on spiritual drought.  What is the cause? How do we quench our thirst? If we do not find that pure water source, can we shrivel up and spiritual die??

I can only speak from my heart. The cause of a spiritual drought is LIFE.  Life happens ... There are many things in this life that will distract us and pull us away from what should really matter...

I have found that we can quench our thirst by immersing ourselves in the living water Himself... Never stop loving Him. Speaking to Him and worshiping His very existence. Fill yourself with His word... It will wash your soul... and yes our soul can get parched and shrivel up. It will lay dormant and not be able to breathe... and sadly their light source will become dim.

I know this firsthand. I was going through the motions of living a busy life. I was outwardly happy... But even without my realizing it...

My soul had become dormant and unresponsive. I could not feel her presence.  And without my calling out or even knowing Him. The Holy Spirit sensed that my soul had lost her way. But then one unexplainable day in May of 2017 without warning He doused me with a healthy dose of living water 💦...  My thirsty soul became fully immersed in this amazing beautiful sparkling water...It took my breath away.  And for a moment my soul became bewildered and confused...But as she felt this warm and gentle love. The fog began to lift..

It was at that moment she realized that it was Him... She had forgotten her first LOVE.. And how He made her feel.  As He whispered gentle words of love.. She began to hear the rhythmic beating of her own heart.  She was excited about the newfound freedom they shared. With each new passing day He began to teach her about His love and life... and the wonders that He created. She listened with an open heart and her spirit became stronger and she felt more alive than she had felt in a very long time. Joy filled her heart.  Peace and tranquily engulfed her very senses whenever He was near... She felt safe in the shadow of His wings. I will admit....

Somewhere during this journey of recovery... This once dormant soul fell in love with her rescuer!  I loving call Him My Savior.

It’s Him, It’s always Him

I wish I could bottle this living water and give it away to every living soul...But this water can not be contained... It runs free and My Savior holds the key...

One who lives in the shelter of the Most High will stay in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalms 91

I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.” All of us go through times of spiritual drought. Psalm 40:1-2

Lost

“The fears we don’t face become our limits.” – Amy Elizabeth

Meaning of lost: unable to find one's way; not knowing one's whereabouts.

The word lost is in the Bible forty-nine times.

Lost, have you ever felt lost?  Have you ever witnessed a child when they have lost sight of their parent and panic sets in… They are afraid, tears stream… cries can be heard!! I do believe we still can feel that panic and anxiety as adults. However, as adults, we learn to internalize those emotions or choose to suffer in silence.

The lost feeling can manifest within for many reasons. This life can be unpredictable and difficult at best. Each day is a difficult hill to climb. But how do we cope? How do we hold on to a rope that seems to be unraveling?  Darkness and doubt can overcome our very existence.

Where do we turn when our hearts are longing for relief? Where do we go when our souls are aching for answers?  It sometimes seems to hurt so bad that we bleed.

I am not a doctor or even qualified to give medical or clinical advice. But I can share my heart. I have found a healer, a therapist, a friend and a lover of our souls. That if you will open your heart and let His light in He will heal every scar. He will fill every void. He will bring peace to your soul that you will have difficulty in understanding.  Where there was once darkness, you will feel a warmth from the love that will glow from within.

There is no medical insurance needed, no copay. His heart is open 365 days a year, rain or shine… I can’t recommend Him enough.

So, how do you contact His office? Go to a quiet place. Close your eyes and call His name and wait on Him… Open the life manual He provided. It’s a best seller and holds a wealth of information…It’s called the Bible. Meditate on the words between the pages day and night.  The most important action is to chase Him with all you are worth. Never give up, the rewards are endless…

The only true cost is to LOVE Him… He will return love to you, far greater than you ever knew could exist. So, now I will ask you who in our troubled world could not use this type of LOVE.

It’s Him, It's Always Him!!

For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. He is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. Psalm 62:5-6 ESV

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6 ESV

Therefore, whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops. Luke 12:3 ESV

Mary’s (Perfect LOVE)

Perfect LOVE

“And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior.” Luke 1:46-47 KJV

When a beautiful blessing caused heartbreak.  As a mother how do you reconcile that your child carries the weight of the world on His shoulders? How can you deal with seeing the pain in your child's eyes? How do we stand at His feet and watch Him take is last breath?  Witnessing this must have put a rip in her heart so deep she felt it was beyond repair.

She must have suffered every wound, every tear, and every drop of blood that fell. The anguish must have been beyond human comprehension.  She gave us such a beautiful gift, it was the biggest most precious part of her life. She gave us her beautiful Son, Emmanuel. She was just a child herself when He was born. But she trusted God to hold her hand through all of the life trials she would endure.

Even knowing how important His role is, the loss must have always haunted her soul.  She was left behind with all her human frailties to embrace and understand the magnitude of His amazing life.  Only her Son could deliver such an amazing gift of peace and healing to her heart. I am so grateful for her and her sacrifice.

When you look for strength remember this story of a mother and child and their journey. It’s unconditional love at its finest. It’s the most beautiful love story we will ever know...

Today let's embrace all Mothers and acknowledge the sacrifice and the beautiful gift of LOVE they unselfishly give.

“For a Child hath been born to us, A Son hath been given to us, And the princely power is on his shoulder, And He doth call his name Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

Storm

"But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind." James 1:6

The meaning of Storm: a storm, a violent disturbance of the atmosphere with strong winds and usually rain, thunder, lightning, or snow. A tumultuous reaction; an uproar or controversy: Move angrily or forcefully in a specified direction:

The word "storm" appears in the Bible one hundred and nineteen times.

Storms can come when we least expect them.  Many can come with complete knowledge, allowing you to prepare for the worst... When I think of storms, I think of Florida, where in my lifetime I have weathered many violent storms.

As I think about these storms, I have witnessed the devastation they can cause to life and property. In life, there are storms we face that rage within.

Let’s look at the storms of life that we feel in our soul… It starts with a distant rumble. We can see grey clouds moving swiftly across the sky… Lightning crashes and bolts of light furiously light the dark sky. The winds pick up speed… And we hear the sounds of the rumbling get closer and closer … Everything in its path is showing signs of being battered and worn…

The human soul will hide in fear, thinking that it will not be able to stand the violence felt. But when our soul retreats and goes deep. Something amazing happens, we find God's gift. He instilled a resilience and a hunger for life in each life He has created... as soon as we find Him there, these storms lose their strength and soon die. And our soul finds a strength we did not even realize existed. It’s at these times that we begin to understand the beauty of our Heavenly Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit.

He is our rock, our anchor, our Savior. Find Rest in Him when you face any storm life may throw your way. Get anchored and feel Him in your soul….

It's Him, it's always Him.

And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being covered with the waves; but Jesus Himself was asleep. Matthew 8:24

Circumcision

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Psalms 51:10

The meaning of Circumcision: The action or practice of circumcising a young boy or man. It’s a procedure that has been used for centuries. Many view this subject as one that requires special care to discuss and execute.

Circumcisions are normally done for medical or religious reasons. And this type of circumcision can be studied by individuals at another time and place.

As my curiosity wanted to know more about this word and why, in the early part of my journey, I prayed multiple times and stated that God circumcised my heart. But why would I use this word to describe this light-hearted feeling? As many of you know, I journal my prayers so I can revisit them and know where this incredible walk with God has taken me. So, I will share a peek into my heart where I actually used this curious word.

“Teach me how to touch hearts in my world. Help me understand my past hurts. I know they have helped You mold my heart. You have circumcised the layers of my heart and made me truly FEEL… The rawness is beautifully painful but necessary for growth. I understand this, but it does not diminish the pain that I have felt. But on the flip side, I have also felt Your great LOVE. It’s like no other.

You are an amazing teacher of LOVE and LIFE. I am grateful for You!!!”

A circumcised heart is an amazing cleansing and freedom of the heart! Many of you have witnessed these changes in me over the years. Now you know what you were seeing was an outward view of God’s beautiful work from within. I won’t lie—it has had some low, sad times, but it has had some of the most amazing high times of my life. I am a work in progress, and I feel He is not finished with me yet. Every day is quite a spiritual adventure.

To further help me understand the meaning of a circumcised heart, I will share the scripture I found in the Bible:

“Also, because you are united with Christ, you truly belong to God’s people. No person has circumcised you to show this. It is like Christ himself has circumcised you, to show that you belong to God. It is like he has cut off your old nature, which made you do bad things.”

—Colossians 2:11 EASY

Are you surprised that this is in the Bible? I am not. It’s been an amazing eye- and heart-opening experience.

It’s His Fault!!! And I love Him for it!

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.” Ezekiel 36:26 KJV

“Not everyone who seems to be a Jew is really a Jew who belongs to God. God does not accept a man just because someone has circumcised that man's body. No! A true Jew is someone who belongs to God in his spirit. He belongs to God because God's Spirit has changed his life. It is like God has circumcised him in his spirit, not in his body. The rules in God's Law cannot do that work in a person. Other people may not praise a person like that, but God will praise him.” Romans 2:28-29 EASY

Stoke

Become the person you were meant to be, light your inner fire and follow your heart’s desire.  Leon Brown…

Meaning of stoke .. add coal or other solid fuel to (a fire, furnace, boiler, etc.).

The word stoke is only used one time in the Bible.

It's 3 am and I can not sleep… as I close my eyes and begin to pray the word stoke nudged my mind and stirred the smoldering fire within…

What sets our souls on fire? What is this pull God has placed within my soul to chase this greater existence? This greater peace?  This greater LOVE…

Has this kindling been placed in our souls before birth… Does it sit dormant just waiting for that golden opportunity? That date with destiny, when our Heavenly Father has preordained the exact moment-in-time of when He will remind us of who we are… and how our story began… ??

We are all His children … When He created us He placed His seal of ownership on our heads. And sprinkled His love into our hearts. He lovingly kissed our tender souls…And then gently placed us in our mother's womb…

I believe this precious kindling sits waiting in silence… Waiting like combustible atoms of light! All waiting for God to unlock and ignite the fire of heaven's light.

This is what I consider the rebirth of the soul. Many call it an awakening… However, I find it odd that there are those that claim an awakening of the spirit … and they may find many gifts!!  However, they miss the most important ingredient, the reason, the main event… and our true purpose...

Even when it's our Heavenly Father’s very breath that has stirred up that primal craving to search for more… Some still do not get it ...It is sad that many do not cherish this gift or for that matter even acknowledge where it came from.

He gently blows His heavenly breath into our smoldering souls… the fire within our hearts begins to spark and the flutter of new life can be felt. He lovingly stokes the coals with such care and He sings a love song that resonates with the most intimate places in our souls. His love is the purest love that we could ever be blessed to feel.

The coals react with the oxygen in the air and the glowing red heat turns into a flame. This fire can be equated to birth and resurrection…

This portion of His heavenly love has had our name on it since the beginning of time.

The power of this love is beyond our human understanding. It is a beautiful process of reconnecting with our Creator… Our mission in this life is to find our way Home so we can reunite with our first love.

It is our destiny to fall madly in love with the greatest soul that I have ever grown to know…

It's Him, it will always be Him.

Breathe on me…  your sweet breath of LOVE🔥it contains enough octane to blow the human mind… He is the eternal breath of life…

The Spirit of God hath made me, And the breath of the Almighty hath given me life. Job 33:4 KJV

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. Jeremiah 1:5

Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God John 3:5

I love how He inspires my soul…

Commit

The moon and stars to govern the night; His love endures forever. Psalm 136:9

In the King James version, the word - commit - appears 75 times the word - committed - appears 92 times the word - committest - appears once.

Meaning of commit. pledge or bind (a person or an organization) to a certain course or policy:

The word commit touches all our lives in some way. Some people, when they give you their word and possibly their heart, will go the distance and keep the commitment made until death if necessary. They are true and genuine souls ... I have been blessed to know a few of these beautiful, rare gems. I love them for who they are and how they touch my soul.

However, unfortunately, I have had the misfortune of knowing a few who do not take those commitments seriously. They callously leave scars on the hearts of others. They live a fearful, shallow existence. They cannot even be true to themselves. Sadly, because they don’t know how to give that level of commitment. They are self-centered and lack substance. They are so focused on self, they cannot see that keeping their commitments can only enrich their own life...

I have found that there are levels of commitment.  We commit our time, our love, and our lives to something every day.  Do you ever stop the think? Where do we commit our energy? Family? Friends? Work? Sports? Trinity? In this life, we should commit to giving our very best to every relationship. So I ask you, is that even possible? Well, I will share my thoughts.

A few years ago,  I cracked open the Bible. A book I never managed to take the time to read, nor did I want to.  But it was then that I made the commitment to learn as much as possible about this amazing book and the beautiful story of the Trinity. The melodic words written contain a love story like no other. This exercise has opened my heart to a new understanding of the word commitment. It’s teaching me so much about life, love, and the ultimate sacrifice. It has everlasting results.

What I discovered is that Jesus has been a part of my life for a long time. Actually, since birth, but I was too busy with life to even realize it was His presence that I felt. I am sad to say it was me who let Him down. I did not make the time. But I am happy to report all of this has changed... However, I must share with you that I will not make shallow statements. Nor will I commit my heart. Nor will I commit my soul to Jesus. Unless I am ready to take it seriously and not waver.  I am sure you think this is impossible. How could this be? She loves Jesus! How could she not commit her heart and soul to Him?

You see, that is not that difficult. When He already owns them both!!
I can commit to always learn more every day and to loving him beyond my own understanding.  It is a commitment that yields many great rewards. I am a work in progress! And I thank him for His grace!

It’s Him! It’s always Him!

Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14

For this reason, I also suffer these things, but I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day. 2 Timothy 1:12

Humanity

The power of God and LOVE can get us ALL

through this thing we call life.

Humanity appears 58 times in six translations of the Bible.

Humanity, meaning the human race—human beings collectively—is such a broad word.

I must admit, I was having difficulty putting my thoughts together. So, I closed my eyes and prayed for help. My prayer soon became my thoughts about the subject. So, I thought I would share my raw dialogue with God.

 Good morning, Father,

There are so many hurting hearts. I don’t know why things happen. How do we prepare ourselves to answer these types of questions? Why do you allow such terrible things to happen to beautiful souls? What do we say?

It saddens me. But I can only take the wound into my heart and say I am not equipped to answer that question. I wish I had the answer.

Father, you are the only one who knows the answer. All I know—I must trust and LOVE you with all that I am. You are the only one who can give us the strength and peace to endure the pain. You are the only one who can LOVE us through all of life’s obstacles.

The answer to my question becomes this:

“I may not have the answer to why certain things happen, but we do have the ability to evaluate what is within our control. And we can choose to make a greater commitment to how we love and support one another.”

We may never fully understand the pain or suffering others have endured. But if we can help lighten their load—with kindness, compassion, forgiveness—or even by simply holding their hand, offering help, a soft shoulder to lean on, a warm hug, or an understanding heart…

And then there are those times when no words are needed. Sitting silently by them in support can speak volumes.

Any small act of love might make all the difference in their life, right in that very moment.

There are times we must give the gift of supplies that can help sustain life… I do feel there is so much turmoil in our world that we get distracted from what is truly important. I have been blessed to live in the shadow of God’s protective arms

I see just how fragile life can be. Life as we know it can change in the blink of an eye… Never take the moments you give from your heart for granted. LIFE is fleeting. Make your life one worth remembering, even if it is just by the one heart that you helped or touched… The ripple you create can go further than you can even imagine. I urge you not to get distracted—make your life count! We are all God’s children. He has entrusted us with His world and with the lives He has placed in our hearts.

“Be humble, be kind, give from your heart… It will fill your heart with love, and a great warmth will flood your soul.”

“Do not think only about the things that you want to do for yourself. Each of you should also think about how you can help other people.”

Philippians 2:4 (EASY)

“In this way, I have shown you how you should live. You should work diligently so that you can help those who are sick or weak. You should remember what Jesus himself said: ‘It may make you happy when you receive things. But it makes you happier when you give things to someone." Acts 20:35 (EASY)
