Disposable

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare

and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Jeremiah 29:11

Meaning of disposable intended to be used once, or until no longer useful, and then thrown away.

The word disposable does not appear in the Bible.  But it does appear in God’s word. When any life is taken for any reason it is considered disposable by someone.

To God all His creations have value none are disposable. He will go to the ends of the earth to save just one. It must crush His soul when a life or a person is seen by human eyes as disposable.

When we as a society have grown up in a disposable world, I think the act of disposing bleeds into other areas of life. It truly hinges on our value system.  Disposable does not always result in death, but it can wound your heart and make your soul bleed.

When we shun someone for their beliefs, their looks, their differences in essence we are treating them as disposable. I am sure if we look at our own life there will be a time or two when someone made you feel disposable… Or not worthy. This is something I truly do not understand. Why does this happen? How can we be so cruel?

When I turn the pages of the Bible to try to understand the harshness of this world, it brought me to a time when our precious Jesus was treated like He was disposable, and He was nailed to a cross. It was there many treated Him as worthless. Indeed this horrific event must have crushed God’s soul and literally it must have broken His heart. Our world demonstrated cruelty beyond comprehension.

I must confess I have felt this disposable feeling, and I can say it does wound the heart and bruise the soul. However, when we look to Jesus for answers, that is when disposable becomes a word that can leave deep scars. But our Savior's story shows us that yes there is an end, but there is also a new beginning. There is hope for a brighter tomorrow.

You see, when you dispose of someone or something there is always someone that will pick up the pieces and see the beauty. They will love and cherish what they see. They will see the value and marvel at hidden treasure standing before them.

And then, one day the ones who thought you were disposable, will see the treasure and regret the action taken. They will realize they missed an opportunity to love and to be loved. Love is an amazing gift from our Heavenly Father, and it should never be considered disposable.

It’s Him, It's always HIM.

So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13

Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be, Matthew 6:21

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18

Then Jesus told them this parable: “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Luke 15:3-5
