"For I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine
until the kingdom of God comes."
Luke 22:18 |
Meaning of wine. The alcoholic fermented juice of fresh grapes used as a beverage. Wine or a substitute used in Christian communion services.
Wine many of us take this beautiful rich bodied drink for granted. We enjoy the aroma, taste, and how it pairs with our favorite dishes.
But there is more to this aromatic drink. It has such a beautiful history.. It holds such an amazing symbolism. So follow me into the heart of the winemaker. He is a Master at His trade. He creates a beautiful masterpiece from a simplistic beginning. He gathers the right equipment. Picks his favorites grapes, and then the magic begins.
The Master Wine Maker takes such pain, such pride, such care, and such love to make it the best it can be. As the grapes began there beautiful transformation. They are cleansed, crushed, pressed, a few more ingredients are added and then they are carefully placed in a cool dark place. Time and much care is given. As the changes take place, the Master carefully checks the progress day by day. Until the day the Master sees His creation is ready to be shared with the world. With pride and great love, He shares His beautiful masterpiece.
Have you ever wonder why Jesus’s first miracle was to turn water into wine? Here are my thoughts. He is the Master Wine Maker. He is the Vine.. and as we love him as much as he loves us we will become the His special grapes, and as we grow in Him, He will continue to take such pain, such pride, such care, and such love to make us the best we can be.
This Scarlett thread of wine is woven into His life tapestry. We remember Him every communion with this very symbol “wine” It’s His first miracle, it’s His blood of life. It’s a gift from him and our Heavenly Father. Jesus himself said, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.”
The question becomes are you willing to be a simple grape in the Masters's hands ??

It’s Him, it’s always Him.
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” John 15:5 KJV
“Jesus said, ‘I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. Some branches that are part of me may have no fruit on them. My Father completely removes all those branches. But other branches do have fruit. My Father cuts all those branches to make them better. Then they will be good and make more fruit.” John 15:1-2 EASY
