The Word

The Word Became Flesh (John 1)

1, In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him, nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome[a] it.

There was a man sent from God whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.

The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Word

The meaning of the word “word” a single distinct meaningful element of speech or writing, used with others (or sometimes alone) to form a sentence and typically shown with space on either side when written or printed.

I could not find how many times the word. “word’ appeared in the Bible.  However, I found this number staggering in The King James Authorized Bible there are 783,137 words. How did they craft such a masterpiece? How has it been cherished by so many for so long?

Now many of you know in my journey I started a word study on December 14, 2019. My friend Joann and I have identified and studied one word a day since that date. We researched meaning and scriptures. And then I have written something about the word. So far, I have written what was on my heart after studying these words. To date, we have clocked in approximately 687 words.  It’s been an incredible learning experience.

Words are one of the most powerful tools we have to communicate what we feel deep in our hearts. Once they are uttered they can speak to the heart of a beautiful love or they can wound the heart 💔 far beyond any apology can repair.  We must learn to choose our words wisely.

Have you ever wondered why in the Bible in the chapter (John 1:1) John wrote these very words? “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him;’ We see Jesus clearly from the beginning of time.

If we just interchange the word “word" with "Jesus” it would read like this.  In the beginning, was Jesus, and Jesus was with God, and Jesus was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him;” This exercise is not any way trying to change the words and how they were written. It just helps me visualize this scripture and how masterfully it was written. Without the “word” life could not exist.

According to Matthew Henry (1662–1714) in his commentary, Jesus is called the "Word" in this opening verse because He was the Son of God sent to earth to reveal his Father's mind to the world.

Without the word, we would not be able to communicate with our Creator.. or each other.  We would live in silence…. We could not hear our children's first words. We could not hear the words I LOVE YOU. We could not hear our Heavenly Father's voice. Words are powerful. Words are life… words live in our hearts. Use them to share life and love.

It's Him, It's always Him.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

There are 8,674 different Hebrew words in the Bible, 5,624 different Greek words, and 12,143 different English words in the King James Version.

Leprosy

There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and

whoever fears has not been perfected in love. 1 John 4:18

Leprosy is a contagious disease that affects the skin, mucous membranes, and nerves, causing discoloration and lumps on the skin and, in severe cases, disfigurement and deformities. Leprosy is now mainly confined to tropical Africa and Asia.

The word leprosy is mentioned in the Bible 40 times.

You may think what an odd word to study? Not really? When we look at the person and not the disease... It becomes a word that rings a familiar sound. My heart bleeds for the souls that are affected by something that they are not truly in control of but suffer in silence. Some wounds scar deeply at the hands of others. These actions may cause more pain than the disease or issue itself.

Do we look past the pain and truly see the person? Do we look into their eyes? Do we even take the time to understand? Or are we callous and or fearful humans and turn away!!! When we turn away we are labeling them as a “leper”. It’s this action that can wound their heart and can crush their soul! Where did the caring hearts go??

We must take a moment and think less of self and ask ourselves, are we wounding someone’s heart with words or actions? Are these words and actions in our control? Was our behavior towards them unjust? The biggest question becomes did it pass the litmus test through God's teachings?

I do believe we have all had at least one time in our life where we may have turned away from the possibility of making a difference.

In reality, it is a lack of compassion, understanding, and love.

I also believe at some point in this journey of life, someone has made us feel like the “leper’ ... There are times that life circumstances may have placed us in situations beyond our control. Leaving us bewildered and confused and doing the best we can with the situation we are given.

However, we may run into those uncaring hearts that make us feel as if we have a disease that they did not want to catch. I feel it truly is a great loss for all parties. And you may have missed getting one step closer to feeling one of the most incredible loves you could ever experience. It’s a love that goes beyond our own understanding.

When you have been made to feel like a "leper" you will find that there is always a special soul that is ready with an open heart to embrace this love !! This soul will have no hidden agenda. They will look into your eyes, and see who you truly are. And they will stay because they are a gift from God and came to love and cheer you on, as you heal and grow. They will show you love deeper than you can ever imagine.

I think we must do a better job in how we care, communicate, and love... Don’t turn away, be supportive. Try walking just one day in their shoes... Your understanding may grow. Your compassion may grow.  Your LOVE may grow. It just takes one text, one phone call, one visit to show you care...

But if you find the need to turn away. Just remember life goes on, the stories change, and the tables turn. And one day you may walk in the “lepers” shoes…

Jesus is the perfect role model!  He never turned away. As a matter of fact, many of His miracles can be witnessed in the life of the leper!  He can heal the disease. He can heal the issue. He can heal our souls! He can heal hearts!

Miracles happen when we put our trust in Him.

It’s Him It’s always Him!!  Jesus is a friend for LIFE !!!

And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. Mark 1:40-42

“And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.” Matthew 8:2-3 KJV

Everlasting

When two hearts become one, it cannot be undone. A promise has been made and cannot be broken or swayed. For this love will last an eternity and will not fade. Charlene M. Martin -

Meaning of everlasting lasting or enduring through all time: eternal. 2a (1): continuing for a long time or indefinitely. (2): having or being flowers or foliage that retain form or color for a long time when dried.

There are approximately 32 verses in the Bible that refer to the word everlasting.

When we look at the word everlasting? What does that truly mean…

I find it difficult to quantify that kind of time and space with our human mind. We say we will love you forever. We say until the end of time. We all have heard of this promise of eternity.

But how do we understand this description of time? When we are a society of instant… Drive-thru fast food.  Microwavable. Swipe your card and go… All the technology of our world trains us to want this immediate gratification. Until we speak of death… All of a sudden, our value of time comes to a screeching halt. We began to reflect on what and who is really important in our lives.  And we begin to see the true richness and value of the word eternity and everlasting.

It is then that we began to search our souls for answers. And as we try to understand this time table. Our soul enlightens us to the answers.

But I feel as long as we are in our earthly bodies we will never truly understand the dynamics and full beauty of this word our Creator so graciously put into His heavenly plan.

So what is the secret? How do get a better understanding? In my opinion, it's time… How we value our time, it’s who we spend our precious time with. It's slowing down and truly seeing what is in front of you. It’s making memories with those you love.

So, ask yourself, what do you truly value? Remember there are no earthly possessions that will last for eternity.

I can only share, my thoughts. Love those God has blessed you to have in your life.  Quiet your mind and listen with your heart. Search until you find His love. It is a love greater than anything in our world. It comes with wisdom, beauty, and His promise of eternity. It's a love that will carry us through this life.

I ask you who would not want to travel to an amazing destination called paradise? Who would want this indescribable love? Who would not enjoy not punching a clock?  Who would not like to live without a calendar to measure time? Everlasting eternity with our Creator sounds rich to me. The only cost is to love Him with all your heart, all your mind, and all your soul!!!

To doubt His word would be to doubt our very existence.

It's Him it's always Him…

I hope to see you there !!

Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Psalms 24:9

For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting, and his truth endureth to all generations Psalms 100.5

Water

“My soul is full of longing for the secret of the sea. And the heart of the great ocean sends a thrilling pulse through me.” — Henry Wadsworth Longfellow -

Meaning of water: a colorless, transparent, odorless liquid that forms the seas, lakes, rivers, and rain and is the basis of the fluids of living organisms.

Water popularly represents life. It can be associated with birth, fertility, and refreshment. ... Christians are baptized with or in water, symbolizing a purification of the soul, and admission into the faith.

Water has mentioned a total of 722 times in the Bible, more often than faith, hope, prayer, and worship. That's an amazing fact!!

What is this precious resource? Unfortunately, there are many places in the world that struggle with having the ability to have this cool, clear.. thirst-quenching liquid. Many of us take it for granted until we are deprived of this gift. It is estimated that a person can survive without water for about 3 days

Did you know that approximately 60% of the human adult body is water?According to H.H. Mitchell, Journal of Biological Chemistry 158, the brain and heart are composed of 73% water, and the lungs are about 83% water. The skin contains 64% water, muscles and kidneys are 79%, and even the bones are watery: 31%.

I find it quite interesting that we must rely on water to survive. It’s a heavenly life source and part of His master plan…  Our body’s chemistry is reliant on the natural water that God created for survival? And our soul"s life is reliant on Him for spiritual survival. Our body's timeline on this earth is short-lived but our soul remains timeless. It only makes sense that He would refer to himself as the “living water.”

“If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked Him and He would have given you living water.”

 (John 4:10).

I can only share my thoughts from a spiritual perspective. I do believe many people are living with a spiritual drought that can last for months, years or it can eventually cause them pain and possibly cause spiritual separation from our Creator.  Some squander this precious gift. Some occasionally stop by to wet their feet. While others jump in and allow Him to immerse them completely.

In the scripture below Jesus shares that we must be born out of water and spirit.

Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. John 3:5

So let’s not drown in the facts, and let’s try to simplify this if not in my mind alone. When our bodies lack this precious life source within approximately 3 days. Our lips become dry, our skin loses its color, our major organs will begin to shut down and our body's life as we know it could end.

Lack of living water to the soul. The soul will begin by hiding. Sadness and darkness will consume its very existence. This drought will choke out the possibility of quenching its thirst and soon it will wither and be lost for eternity!!!

Our souls are drawn to this “Living Water” by His love, His beauty, and His grace. It fills our hearts to the point we crave Him because our souls inordinately desires Him. It knows that it’s the only chance of surviving. It knows it is the only way to grow into a beautiful existence with the one who gives us life on all levels... Its our souls goal to one day return to its life source. It’s amazing how intricate and beautifully designed we all are. He is such a mastermind. He gives life. He gives us the freedom to live it. But He planted a desire in our souls to return to Him. It's much like a migration of the soul. And that my friend is an amazing love story.

It’s Him, It’s always Him!

And I am always thirsty for more!!

Genesis 1:1-3 “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.

Revelation 14:7 Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and all the springs of water.”

Genesis 1:7 “So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so.”

Dreamer

“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” ―Harriet Tubman...

Dreamers are visionaries. They are great at starting things, generating ideas, questioning the system, and inspiring others. They identify potential in others and they are great at finding opportunities. They are not intimidated by risk and they tend to have pretty high self-esteem.

The word dreamer can be found approximately 5 times in the Bible...

Will I awake one day and realize this heavenly love I feel so deep within my soul was just a dream??? ... or was it really you? Did you come like a thief in the night and steal my heart? Is it your alluring voice that I hear whispering to my soul...?

How could it not be you? You have revealed things to me, about me that only you would know. How do you have such power? Such grace? Such depth? You love with such amazing freedom and forgiveness !!

I have witnessed how you transform lives before my very eyes...

No mortal man has this trait of loving beyond what the human mind can understand... You give dreamers the gift of love and hope...

So in the stillness of the early morn... I dream of your beautiful presence... and my heart whispers  ... is it you?  And I hear in my soul...

Yes, my beloved, it is I!

It's at that moment in time my dream becomes alive, my mind surrenders, and I can hear my heart whisper...

It is you, you came...  you are the one my soul has been desperately searching for... and in a soft audible voice, my soul whispers His name... Elohim...

I will carry this moment, in my heart until the day...

I can touch His beautiful face...

I can hear His soothing voice...

I can gaze into His mesmerizing eyes...

And my spiritual heart will know this was not a dream... It was my amazing gift from God... A beautiful taste of heaven.

Oh my, how He WOWs me...
It’s Him, It’s always Him!

Pardon me as I close my eyes and continue this dream  ... I can only pray that I linger in this heaven-sent dream until the end of time...

And I hear Him whisper?

Welcome my beloved, it is I...

So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience; Colossians 3:12

Misunderstood

After all, there was something rather pleasant in knowing that you were misunderstood. It made you feel different from everyone else.”
Henry Handel Richardson, The Getting of Wisdom

Meaning of misunderstood incorrectly interpreted or understood.

There are approximately 30 verses about being misunderstood...

Have you ever been caught in the crossfire of a misinterpreted message...? Even the purest of intentions can be misunderstood... How many times do we step out before we learn the art of walking on eggshells??  Or do we retract our wounded soul??  Do we have to dance around people, or can we be our honest selves without fear of misinterpretation? Or an unwarranted backlash!!

I do believe texting tops the list in communication misinterpretation... However, it can happen at any time...I have learned through years of living that everyone at some time has or will misinterpret something we have said or done...

Yes, we are all human and yes we all deal with the same issues... It's not a gender issue or even a race issue it's a human issue... We need to learn the art of patients when dealing with others... We need to show love and kindness, and learn to walk in their shoes...Before reacting.

I can without a doubt... Say no matter what or how I speak to my Heavenly Father I do not need to explain... He has never misinterpreted my words... He accepts us as we are... He loves us no matter what... Because you see He looks past the words and sees our hearts. He knows our intentions and yes, He has taken the time to walk in our shoes... Even His message and good intentions were misinterpreted by many...

And yet He took on the world to prove to you and me... That He understands exactly how we feel... Even if the world does not!!!

Look to Him to always understand! To always love and see you as you are no matter how small or large your message maybe!

Do not misunderstand this!!!!

I LOVE HIM!!! More today than yesterday... He will always be my soft place to fall in this troubled world!!!

It's Him... it's always Him!!!

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. John 3:16 -17.

Journey (1800 days)

“To fall in love with God is the greatest romance; to seek him the greatest adventure; to find him, the greatest human achievement.”― St. Augustine of Hippo

Five years ago to date... I embarked on the most amazing journey... It has been filled with the wonderment of a child. I was placed on a fast-track learning experience that I did not choose. I am still perplexed about why or how it happened?? I did not have much of a religious background? So why? One day I asked Him why me?? And the answer I received was “ Why not you??”

I am not special by any stretch of the means. I had no prior hardships like many testimonies that I have heard... I had no darkness looming in my past or present to speak of. I would be considered in many circles to be knocking at the door of the so-called golden years of life... I feel I fell into the better late than never crowd..

However I did learn that it is never too late to find a love that makes us reach for more, it’s a love that is beyond this world.. and difficult to contain. He touched my life, set my heart ablaze, and turned my dormant soul into motion...

In 1,800 days we have created a blog to share His word. We have hit almost 41k worldwide views. He helped me find my voice... our podcast is almost 3, years old. We have touched 36 counties and 460 cities... I literally crawled out of my shell and opened my heart for the world to see..(HIM).. And if that was not enough He guided my eyes and my hands to search for His face through art.

I have exposed my vulnerable heart and have experienced the growing pains to prove it... He has guided my steps, kept me safe, and wiped many tears. He has loved me through the process. The internet gave me the platform to share Him on a much larger scale than I ever dreamed possible!!

(Matthew 19:26)

I can only pray that in the course of my adventure with Elohim that perhaps you have been touched by His LOVE in some way.. I have not shared my love for Him for monetary gain. I share it with you because He gave me the gift of “His LOVE” to share...

Every year on this date I place ribbons on the trees where He touched my soul... So if you see beautiful green trees with purple ribbons swaying in the soft summer breeze you will know that is where love fell from heaven into my soul...

And my life will never be the same!! Because... He loved me first!!!

1 John 4:19

Wishing you a day filled with His abundant love!

I am a work in progress … and yes He still WOWs me…
