The meaning of the word “word” a single distinct meaningful element of speech or writing, used with others (or sometimes alone) to form a sentence and typically shown with space on either side when written or printed.
I could not find how many times the word. “word’ appeared in the Bible. However, I found this number staggering in The King James Authorized Bible there are 783,137 words. How did they craft such a masterpiece? How has it been cherished by so many for so long?
Now many of you know in my journey I started a word study on December 14, 2019. My friend Joann and I have identified and studied one word a day since that date. We researched meaning and scriptures. And then I have written something about the word. So far, I have written what was on my heart after studying these words. To date, we have clocked in approximately 687 words. It’s been an incredible learning experience.
Words are one of the most powerful tools we have to communicate what we feel deep in our hearts. Once they are uttered they can speak to the heart of a beautiful love ❤or they can wound the heart 💔 far beyond any apology can repair. We must learn to choose our words wisely.
Have you ever wondered why in the Bible in the chapter (John 1:1) John wrote these very words? “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him;’ We see Jesus clearly from the beginning of time.
If we just interchange the word “word" with "Jesus” it would read like this. In the beginning, was Jesus, and Jesus was with God, and Jesus was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him;” This exercise is not any way trying to change the words and how they were written. It just helps me visualize this scripture and how masterfully it was written. Without the “word” life could not exist.
According to Matthew Henry (1662–1714) in his commentary, Jesus is called the "Word" in this opening verse because He was the Son of God sent to earth to reveal his Father's mind to the world.
Without the word, we would not be able to communicate with our Creator.. or each other. We would live in silence…. We could not hear our children's first words. We could not hear the words I LOVE YOU. We could not hear our Heavenly Father's voice. Words are powerful. Words are life… words live in our hearts. Use them to share life and love.
It's Him, It's always Him.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14
There are 8,674 different Hebrew words in the Bible, 5,624 different Greek words, and 12,143 different English words in the King James Version.
