Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. James 1:17...
There are 100 verses that reference the shadow in the Bible.
Have you ever tried shadow dancing? Or perhaps you have tried finger shadow puppet art. Have you ever thought about why and what purpose is our shadow? It does not seem to serve any true purpose? Or does it? What is the difference between shadow and shade they are both so similar? Both are created by the blocking of light!! However shadow is most used to describe a silhouette or dark image of man ... Have we ever given it any thought? That perhaps the shadow we see of ourselves is our soul's reflection?? Hmm, We know our soul lives with us but we have never seen it ... or have we?? It hides deep within...it never leaves us as long as we have breath...
To create a shadow we must have these conditions shadow: a light source, an interrupter, and a background.
To then ponder this word further ...
We know from previous teachings that God is light so in essence, He has no shadow because He is our light source. We are the interrupter but on what background does our soul reflect?? But better stated in order for our soul to cast a shadow we must be standing in God's light... I can not think of a better place to be. There is a mystery to our shadow.
I remember my toddler the first time he witnessed his shadow it was traumatic. He was so scared because He did not understand this darkness. He could not escape its grip it followed Him where ever he ran... He screamed and cried... But much like our Heavenly parent, I pointed out how it was a beautiful part of ourselves and it moved when we moved... I remember as we danced around and He began to giggle and I could see the freedom and joy on his face. It was at that moment He realized that as long as He looked to the light His little soul would feel such freedom and joy. That his shadow is a result of feeling that oneness with our creator... So I invite you the next time you see your shadow.... dance! Dance with Him... He is our light source.
It’s Him, it’s always Him.
Our soul will feel the freedom and joy that only He can bring!!!
