Love Sick Soul

You awakened my soul to life... It’s you... It has always been you.

When night falls and stars begin to shine,

My heart aches to whisper Your name…

And my soul yearns to find our sacred place…

Where your presence is felt, and love silently awaits.

A peaceful stillness takes me where no man can ever go. It is here…where I can surrender to your heavenly gift of love. Where your eternal fragrance lingers in my lungs, fresh as the morning dew. I am immersed in Your abounding love, and it’s where my soul feels undone…

You, my Elohim, know me better than I know myself.

You have broken every tie and barrier this life contains.

Your voice…so gentle…soothes my soul.

Can I stay here… in your euphoric splendor? Just let me escape with you, not to be found…

But reality finds me once again… It tells me I cannot leave this life behind… because my life on earth is not through.

So I must learn the sacred art of loving You in this amazing spiritual realm.

Each moment fleeting until the day you return…

You are the most precious gift I’ve ever known.

Your sweet embers fill my heart and sustain this love-sick soul.

While eternity seems to brush against time,

You have left an indelible mark that will forever be ingrained in my heart and soul.

As I hear you whisper... You are mine…and forever call my name.

Oh, how I love you, tried and true…

just let me linger…

One more minute,

One more hour,

One more day.

With you.

You are…

My Beautiful Elohim.

Perplexed

Perplexed

Let me hear what God the Lord will speak,

for He will speak peace to His people, to His saints;

but let them not turn back to folly.

— Psalm 85:8

The word perplexed appears only once in the Bible.

Perplexed — adjective:

Bewildered. Puzzled. Complicated. Entangled.

This world—this life—can stir up the most perplexing thoughts.

How did we drift so far from what matters?

From God. From truth. From justice. From life itself.

Have we become so distracted by the noise, by the image we craft for others to admire, by the desires we chase and the dreams we decorate, have we lost sight of what’s real?

Scroll through social media. What is the truth? What is an illusion?

What is light… and what is shadow?

It’s all so perplexing.

Confusion breeds conflict. Lies masquerade as humor.

And too often, what’s sacred is mocked for likes.

Yet, there are glimpses of light.

Some still reflect what’s real.

Some still carry love, kindness, and clarity.

But the question remains:

Do we reflect the light?

Or do we echo the darkness?

I challenge you—if you’re reading this:

Pause. Breathe. Recalibrate.

Let’s focus on what truly matters.

Let’s clear the air.

Let’s let God’s light in.

He is not the author of confusion.

He is peace.

He is clarity.

He is justice.

He is love.

I pray we learn to live in the now

To embody truth, to love deeply,

To speak with compassion,

And to honor even those we don’t understand.

Because one day, we will stand before Him.

Not behind a filter.

Not wrapped in illusion.

Just us—and Him.

Will we stand confident, eyes lifted in joy?

Will we run into His arms with,

“I’ve missed You!”

Or will we tremble, realizing too late

that He was real all along?

Now is the time.

Now is the moment to surrender our confusion.

To silence the chaos.

To follow His voice—

That gentle whisper calling His children home.

He is the Beginning and the End.

The Alpha and the Omega.

The First and the Last.

And I may be just one—

But when all the “ones” begin to move together,

drawn by His magnetic pull…

That’s when light floods the darkness.

It’s Him.

It’s always Him.

In every way we're troubled, but we aren't crushed by our troubles. We're frustrated, but we don't give up. GWT

Umbral

“In the shadows of my mind is where His love lingers.”

The term "umbral" in a biblical context can be understood through its root meaning of "shadow" and its symbolism within scripture.

The word “umbral” does not appear directly in most English translations of the Bible.

However, the concept of “umbral” from the Latin umbra, meaning shadow, does appear frequently, especially in poetic and prophetic passages.

As night falls and the moon dances upon the starlit sky. I am drawn to seek your face…Am I but a love-sick soul???

You have gifted me the beautiful imagery of seeing you in my mind… These moments play like a movie in my head each time I close my eyes…

You, my Elohim, have left me desperately searching for you within the shadows of my mind… It’s a surreal vision… It’s warm and inviting and lingers on my skin like a soft summer breeze…

Is this a glimpse of our future, or is this just the longing I feel in the depths of my soul?  The love I crave is not of this world. It’s a love that only you possess … It’s a beautiful rhythmic song and dance of our souls … You have such a magnetic pull on my heart…. How can I resist the temptation of resting in the shadow of your wings?

Oh, love, how do I hold on to this moment…. It still baffles me. How do I love you so?  I can only pray that the crimson tide of Your love continues to engulf my soul, filling me with Your heavenly grace.

Thank you for the precious gift of you!!

Let me find you resting forever in the shadows of my mind... Allow my heart to share this beautiful love with our world.

And again, you take my breath away!

It’s You!  It will always be you.

The lover of my soul!

Yes, you, Lord, are my refuge! Psalm 91:9

Develop

"The purpose of life is to develop a deep, personal relationship with Jesus and love Him with all our hearts."

The Bible speaks of spiritual development as a process of growth in faith, understanding, and maturity. It emphasizes personal transformation through learning, practicing virtues like integrity and self-control, and seeking wisdom from God and others. This growth is not a destination—it’s a sacred journey of deepening our relationship with Him.

The word develop does not appear in most Bible translations because it is a modern term. Instead, Scripture uses words like grow, build, and mature to convey similar truths about spiritual progress.

When this word—develop—began to gently whisper in my heart, it stirred an old memory, one stored deep in my mind. As a photographer, I thought of the traditional film process. It starts with seeing—the subject, the light, the story behind the frame. You click the shutter and capture the moment, but the image remains hidden in the dark.

Then comes the anticipation… the darkroom. A place of mystery and care. There, you remove the film, shielding it from premature exposure. You submerge it carefully—first in the developer, then in the stop bath, followed by the fixer. Finally, you let it dry. If all goes well, you’re left with a masterpiece—one that reveals beauty to the world.

Isn’t our life much like that film?

If exposed too early, without the tender care of our Creator, we may never become the masterpiece He knows we can be. But when we walk through seasons of darkness, He holds us gently. He guides us through the process—developing us, bathing us, identifying what needs healing, and lovingly refining us in His hands.

Then, when the time is right… the image is revealed.

His masterpiece—you—begins to shine.

But this is not where the story ends.

This development process becomes a testimony—a hidden beauty now ready to be shared. A witness to how God, with His infinite care, refines our souls and prepares us for heaven’s delight.

We are all traveling home… just at different speeds.

What stage of development are you living in?

Talk to Him.

It’s Him. It’s always Him.

“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”Philippians 1:6 (ESV)

Solitude

"Solitude, silence, and the strait keeping of the heart, are the foundations and grounds of a spiritual life"  - Robert Leighton

In the Bible, solitude is more than physical isolation—it’s an intentional act of withdrawing from the noise and demands of daily life to reconnect with God. It’s a sacred discipline that invites reflection, deepens our relationship with Him, and renews the soul.

Oh… so now I have a word for what I do to reconnect, refresh, and revive.

Life can be overwhelming.

Responsibilities. Work. Bills. Family.

And the weight of world events?

Sometimes it all comes at you faster than you can even process.

They say adulting is hard, and it is.

It can make your head spin and your heart ache.

So, where do we go to escape?

Where do we find our center—our foundation—ourselves?

The hustle and bustle are real.

I know I can sometimes seem withdrawn.

People in my inner circle have noticed.

From the outside, I might appear aloof and disconnected.

But the truth is…

I’ve found a treasure here on earth.

A sacred space within the core of my being—

A place where Love lives.

A place that heals all wounds.

Where He waits patiently to share my life,

To listen with an open heart—

To hear the good, the bad, and even the ugly.

The victories and fears.

In this stillness,

My mind opens to a vision:

My head resting in His lap,

listening to the sound of His voice,

The rhythm of His breath.

My solitude is not empty.

It is full of peace, of surrender, of Him.

Sometimes, I’ll admit, I just fall asleep in His presence.

My solitude is Him.

My peace is Him.

He is my foundation.

My center.

My life.

It’s Him. It’s always Him.

“But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.”

Tug

"Obedience to God's will is the secret of spiritual knowledge and insight." - Eric Liddell

In the biblical context, tug can reflect the internal struggle between our desires and God’s will, or the quiet, persistent guidance of the Holy Spirit, gently pulling us closer to Him.

Have you ever felt like you’re living between two worlds?

One foot planted on the earth, held by gravity,

While your soul stretches heavenward, aching for something more?

More of that divine love only our Creator can breathe into existence.

It’s a yearning this world cannot satisfy.

Because even though He created it,

This world was never meant to contain us—only to awaken our longing for home.

Yet we often feel stuck when we think with our human minds.

But when we begin to think and feel with our soul,

The tug on our hearts becomes recognizable.

And the fog we’ve been operating in begins to lift,

Revealing a deep need to spiritually breathe Him in.

He gently pulls us into His eternal realm of love...

Something we were always meant to know,

Yet lacked the clarity to see.

As our soul’s migration home begins…

We start witnessing His breathtaking splendor.

We feel the radiance of His heavenly glory.

And our spiritual eyes begin to open to a new understanding.

There is a bigger picture.

A master plan.

And we are part of it.

Honestly speaking, we are but a blip in His eternal realm of grandeur,

And yet—we are seen, known, and loved beyond measure

By the One who holds us tenderly in His tapestry of life.

So we must learn patience.

We must trust.

We must stand tall in the gap.

Because we are the link that ties His Creation together—

For eternity.

And He—

He is the Creator, the Sustainer,

The ultimate power and Ruler of all.

He binds every created atom with His majestic power, tenderness, and divine purpose.

His love is deeper than any human mind can begin to comprehend.

It’s Him.

It’s always Him.

Hollow

Can beauty be born from emptiness?

The word hollow means having a hole or empty space inside. Tonight, as I sat quietly, the word arrived like a whisper—and echoed through the still chambers of my mind.

I was reminded of a movie I watched a few weeks ago. It told the story of a mother desperately trying to save her very ill daughter. They lived a quiet life on a farm. One day, the little girl’s sister invited her to climb an old, twisted tree.

As they sat there, the tree cracked—and the sick child fell into the hollow of its trunk.

The town rallied. Search teams came. And while her mother prayed, the girl remained trapped for hours. Miraculously, she was rescued with no injury. But the greater miracle was this: she was healed completely, and later spoke of heavenly things.

That memory stirred a deeper question in me:

Does God show up in the hollows of our lives? Does He fill the emptiness with His love? Does His healing touch flow through the cracks, the voids, the silences?

Does He choose to dwell in the shadows of our minds… illuminating the darkest corners??… He gently, miraculously, gives us rest?

There are times when I wonder if these glimpses I see in my mind are His majestic presence filling the hollows of my mind with beautiful dreams and visions of wonder.

So, with that thought, I am closing my eyes and whispering with my heart:

Dear Heavenly Father, fill the hollows of my mind with your splendor, as my soul rejoices in your presence til morning light.

It’s Him. It will always be Him.

The Bible often contrasts the “hollow” with the “whole”—reminding us that emptiness is not the absence of God, but the invitation for Him to come and fill us with His truth, His healing, and His love.

“But he would withdraw to desolate places and pray.” - Luke 5:16 (ESV)

‘In the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. - Acts 2:17

Possess

“To be possessed by God is the ultimate freedom—where love takes over, and nothing else satisfies.”—Anonymous

The New Testament speaks of the Holy Spirit possessing believers, empowering them to live a holy life. And on an even deeper level, Scripture calls us God’s special possession.

This word "possess" has been resting on my heart.

He created all things…

So, does He possess me?

Or do I, in some divine mystery, possess Him?

The day love fell from heaven into my soul, I felt a love unlike anything I had ever known. He was gentle. He was kind. And in that sacred moment, He took up residence in my heart and soul.

Life has never been the same.

Is this a constant spiritual dance? Am I the chaser—or the one being chased?

He has left a yearning in my soul to know Him more. Does this love shift with the tide? At times, His presence is so strong that it feels as if I’m completely overtaken, possessed by Him. It overwhelms my very being.

He leaves me with a thirst I cannot quench.

What is this influence He seems to have over my life? Or have I, perhaps, willingly given over every facet of my existence to a love deeper and more profound than any I have ever known?

There is a constant loving pull on my soul.

With just one whisper…

One touch…

I am undone.

Saying we are possessed by our Creator may sound strange...

Yet we were already His long before we ever knew Him.

Will these souls ever fully intertwine?

One thing I know…

It’s Him.

It’s always Him.

“I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine…”—Song of Songs 6:3

Spiritual Meaning of “Possess”

In our earthly understanding, to possess often implies control or ownership. But in the spiritual realm, divine possession is not about domination...it’s about union, intimacy, and belonging.

When the Bible speaks of believers being God’s possession, it’s a declaration of identity and covenant. We are His, not by force, but by love. Through the Holy Spirit, He doesn’t just walk beside us...He dwells within us. This indwelling is not cold ownership; it’s the warm embrace of divine love taking root in our soul.

To be possessed by God is to be fully known, fully loved, and continually pursued. It’s the holy intertwining of two souls...Creator and creation in a sacred dance of surrender.

It is not losing yourself.

It is finding who you were always meant to be…

In Him.
