“It is not the magnitude of our actions but the amount of love put into them that matters.” Mother Teresa
I have been in the midst of studying the chapters in Genesis about Noah and the Ark.
God saw that the wickedness of man was great, and He was sorry He had made man. It grieved Him at His heart. God said I will destroy man I have created. Every man, animal, and fowls of the air.
As He thought this He remembered Noah. Noah had found grace in the eyes of the Lord, and he walked with God. So God asked Noah to build an ark. One big enough to hold Noah and his family. Eight people. And two of every living thing. The ark would have been 500 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 50 feet high.
God was going to flood the whole earth, every man and animal would drown from the flood except those in the ark. What a request for Noah to accomplish. So Noah did it. It took 100 years to build it. It had never rained before and the people mocked him as he told them to change their ways.
What does this have to do with the title of this writing???? As I was studying Noah I read Isaiah 40:31. “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles....”. Eagles can soar to great heights. Chickens have the wing span and strength to fly a great distance but they do not. They only fly a short distance when in danger, and then go back to pecking in the same place all day.
Are we up to the challenge of soaring like an Eagle trusting God as we go, or like a chicken only flies when in danger?
Would you be willing to answer God’s request to do something that seems difficult? Or believe a truth in the Bible you have read over many times but did not even comprehend?
Let’s be like an eagle and believe in the might, love, and power of our God.
Luke 10:27 “Love the Lord thy God with all your heart, soul, mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
