Chicken or Eagle by Joann Turnbull

“It is not the magnitude of our actions but the amount of love put into them that matters.”  Mother Teresa

I have been in the midst of studying the chapters in Genesis about Noah and the Ark.

God saw that the wickedness of man was great, and He was sorry He had made man. It grieved Him at His heart.  God said I will destroy  man I have created.  Every man, animal, and fowls of the air.

As He thought this He remembered Noah.  Noah had found grace in the eyes of the Lord, and he walked with God.  So God asked Noah to build an ark.  One big enough to hold Noah and his family.  Eight people.  And two of every living thing.  The ark would have been 500 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 50 feet high.

God was going to flood the whole earth, every man and animal would drown from the flood except those in the ark.  What a request for Noah to accomplish.  So Noah did it.  It took 100 years to build it.  It had never rained before and the people mocked him as he told them to change their ways.

What does this have to do with the title of this writing????   As I was studying Noah I read Isaiah 40:31.  “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles....”. Eagles can soar to great heights.  Chickens have the wing span and strength to fly a great distance but they do not. They only fly a short distance when in danger, and then go back to pecking in the same place all day.
Are we up to the challenge of soaring like an Eagle trusting God as we go, or like a chicken only flies when in danger?
Would you be willing to answer God’s request to do something that seems difficult?  Or believe a truth in the Bible you have read over many times but did not even comprehend?

Let’s be like an eagle and believe in the might, love, and power of our God.

Gave

How many there are … who imagine that because Jesus paid it all, they need pay nothing, forgetting that the prime object of their salvation was that they should follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ in bringing back a lost world to God. - Lottie Moon

Meaning of the word gave: freely transfer the possession of (something) to (someone); hand over to.

We located 44 verses that refer to the word gave…

In my life, I have been blessed with many gifts… the gift of life, the gift of love, and the gift of fabulous family and friends…

But one day, I was given a precious gift that changed my life. It gently changed who I was to become… A Child of God.

God gave me the gift of Himself. 😍

He came soft as a summer breeze…He spoke to my soul, and I was captivated by His voice. He called Himself the Holy Spirit…. I had heard of this name… But I never took the time to know Him… However, that has changed… I talk to Him every day. I share my thoughts my prayers and my heart… He is such a fantastic listener…

But God didn’t stop there, He wowed me by giving me the gift of His Son. Many know the Son of God as Jesus… I call Him Yeshua. I must confess He has been intimate with my heart… He knows me better than I know myself. He has taught me many things, But I especially am taken in by the teachings of His heavenly love… It’s a love that goes beyond what this old world could even begin to know… He takes my breath away….

When I think of my three in one… My mind surrenders and I willingly give Him my heart and soul… I do not know where He is leading this life that He has held so dear for so long…. But I know I must follow Him… even into the unknown…

And to think … I never knew Him… but somewhere during this journey, I fell in love with the one who loved me first…

It’s Him, It will always be Him.

He completes me… I am His work in progress…

And yes, He is my Elohim…

My 3 in one… My purpose for life.

Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. John 1:12

He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 1 John 4:8

Wishing you an evening filled with His abundant love..

God Bless

Art is a new adventure in this journey.

Knocking by Joann Turnbull

Be like men who are waiting for their master when he returns from the wedding feast, so that they may immediately open the door to him when he comes and knocks. Luke 12:36

We might ask who is that knocking at my door?  For several weeks the word knocking has been on my mind. When someone comes to your door they will knock.

Today many of us hear a knocking on the door to our hearts and soul.  It is Jesus.  He may have been knocking a long time on the door of your heart, but you have ignored Him.

Our Creator and the One who loves us so, you may have been ignoring Him.  Sometimes we will open the door if there is something we need from Him.  But we do not welcome Him in to stay. He wants to move in and sit at the table and eat with you.  As you share a meal He has much to tell you.  He doesn’t want just one meal with you, but He wants to share your home with Him.

You came to this place in your life because He has loved you before you were born.  He has so much to tell you.  He wants to share the moments of each day with you.  He will be the closest friend you ever had.  He will not bail out on you when things get hard to bear.  He will comfort you and hold you in His arms until the trouble passes.

Open the door wide and give Him access to every room in your house.  As you do you will begin to love Him with your whole heart, soul, and might.

He says, “I stand at the door and knock:  IF any man hears my voice, and opens the door,

I will come in to him, and will eat with him, and he with me.”  Revelation 3:20

This verse was written to the seven Churches. Maybe you made a decision long ago to accept His grace for your sins.  But you are lukewarm in your relationship with Him now.

What joy and love await those who open the door wide to Him.  You will fall in love with Him.  He delights to be with you 24/7.
